Well, this road show certainly has drawn interest. The Florida Senate Committee on Gaming makes the first of four stops across the state to gather information from Floridians, and the list of those registered for Wednesday in Coconut Creek stands at 60.
The committee staff broke the speakers down by category, and it includes 20 people on economic impacts, six on "family, community and social impacts," 10 on compulsive gambling, 11 on racinos and pari-mutuels, 10 on decoupling, one on internet cafes (senior arcade lawyer Michael Wolf) and two on film and TV production.
Others wishing to speak may fill out appearance cards onsite. The meeting starts at 4 p.m.
There'll also be a live horse outside at 3 p.m., as I wrote about today.
