3 from Cooper City share $2M Powerball win

A trust formed by three Cooper City residents stepped forward Friday to collect a $2 million Powerball prize.

Maureen Aguirre, Pedro Aguirre and Marisa Aguirre formed the SBBT Revocable Trust and claimed their prize at Tallahassee. They hit five of five white balls but missed on the red powerball in the Sept. 18 drawing.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased from Stop N Shop Sunco, located at 12351 NW 18th St.  in Pembroke Pines. The retailer received a $5,000 bonus commission.

There could be many reasons why they formed the trust, including tax implications and assuring each other that the money would be paid out how they wanted.
