Teagan Presley, who Maxim magazine listed as one of the 12 hottest women in the adult film industry, will host a charity poker tournament at 7 p.m. Friday at Goldfinger, 3801 University Drive, Sunrise.
The tournament raises money for children of fallen officers. Scott Collman, who owns Showgirl Inc., in Miami and is a former owner of Goldfinger, arranged the tournament, which will include an adult film star playing at every table. (She'll be dressed.)
"It's like most charity poker tournaments, except there are a bunch of beautiful women who play. And when they run out of chips, we accidentally give them a few more so they'll stay at the table," he joked.
Collman emphasized that the tournament, held in conjunction with Springtree Charities, raises money to benefit the children of fallen officers in South Florida.
"If you don’t give back to your community what’s the point of having a business?" he said. "While most people maybe don’t consider (adult businesses) in their top 10 things, especially with the economy."A similar tournament, the fourth annual, will be Saturday at his Showgirls club in Cutler Bay. This is the second year at Goldfinger, which the new owners agreed him to conduct because of the charity involved, he said.
He said the tournaments have raised over $65,000 to help out with the cost of school supplies, clothing, therapy and other services that otherwise might be unavailable to those who need it most.
First prize is a Caribbean cruise for two, second is a Key West two-day trip. Other prizes include a flat-screen TV, jet ski outings, a year's free admission to Goldfinger and Showgirls and a $100 bar tab. For more info search "Porn Star Poker -- A Charity Event" on Facebook.
Entry is $100, with rebuys. All of the revenues go to the charity, he said, other than airfare and hotel for eight of the stars to travel here.
