Hanukkah begins at sundown Saturday, and the Isle Casino and Racing is offering distinctive holiday dishes in Myron’s Delicatessen and the Farmer's Pick Buffet.
Myron's offerings run from noon until 9 p.m. and Farmer’s Pick Buffet's are during its normal hours (Lunch Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.; Dinner Sunday to Thursday, 4 p.m. - 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.; Sunday Brunch 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
“We’ve created special homemade dishes that we hope will bring back warm and delicious memories of Hanukkahs past," said said Senior Director of Food and Beverage Mark Sicilia.
Farmer’s Pick Buffet lunch and dinner entrees will be: Sat. Dec. 8 - Stuffed cabbage and egg barley and mushroom with matzo ball soup; Sun., Dec. 9 - Braised brisket and potato latkes with beef and barley soup; Mon. Dec. 10 - Grilled knockwurst and sauerkraut and cheese blintzes with matzo ball soup; Tues. Dec. 11 - Baked salmon and noodle kugel with beef barley soup; Wed. Dec. 12 – Roasted chicken with mini knishes and matzo ball soup; Thurs. Dec. 13 - Beef liver and onions with pierogies and beef and barley soup; Fri. Dec. 14 – Boiled chicken in the pot with buttered egg noodles and matzo ball soup; Sat. Dec. 15 - Sweet and sour meatballs with cheese blintzes and beef and barley soup; Sun. Dec. 16 – Romania steak with onions, Israeli couscous and matzo ball soup. Traditional starch and vegetables for the special buffet will be kasha varnishkes and carrot tsimmes.
Also in Farmer’s Pick Buffet, every day there’ll be chicken liver, whitefish salad, gefilte fish and pickled herring available, as well as sliced challah, mini bagels and whipped cream cheese. The all-you-can-eat Farmer’s Pick Buffet pricing will not increase for the specials and the usual buffet fare will still be available. Lunch is $12.99; Dinner is $20.99; Seafood Dinner Friday and Saturday is $25.99. Sunday Brunch is $17.99. Prices include beer and wine.
In Myron’s Delicatessen, for starters diners can choose from: House-made chopped chicken liver, bagel crisps or seeded rye bread; Potato latkes, rustic apple sauce and sour cream; Matzo ball soup, chicken, vegetables with noodles and Myron’s famous matzo ball. The Hanukkah menu features a main course choice of: Braised brisket pot roast with caramelized onions and roasted carrots; Char-grilled lightly seasoned salmon filet with dried fruit and almonds; or Grandmother’s herb roasted chicken slowly cooked to perfection. Tempting desserts will be apple spice cake with brown sugar glaze; the traditional sweet delight that is Rugelach; or carrot cup cake with honey orange glaze. Myron’s full course Hanukkah menu price of $16.99 includes soda, coffee or tea and a complimentary glass of Manischewitz.
