Biggest total Lotto jackpot

James Caldwell, of Orlando, claimed the $46 million Florida Lotto jackpot from the Dec. 18 drawing, lottery officials announced Tuesday morning.
Caldwell, who made the claim as manager of the trust BJewel LLC, chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $28,759,280.93. The lottery is required to release the name and hometown of the winner, but he or she is not required to reveal any more information, and Caldwell chose not to. (Understandably.)
He purchased his Quick Pick ticket at Circle K, located at 2704 South Ferncreek Ave. in Orlando.
The largest unclaimed jackpot from South Florida is a $12 million Florida Lotto win from Jan. 18 sold at Vic's Sunoco in Tamarac. That's the largest Broward County Lotto win since 2011.
Meanwhile, Mega Millions is at $122 million for Tuesday night's drawing. Powerball is building up to about $284 million for Wednesday night's drawing and the Florida Lotto is at $8 million.
