Nobody in Florida hit the $425 million Powerball Wednesday night, but Monroe Bostic, Jr., 59, of Deerfield Beach, claimed a $1.3 million Mega Money jackpot Thursday at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
He chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option for his winnings, in the amount of $990,652.65.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Sunshine, located at 1277 W. Hillsboro Blvd., in Deerfield Beach.
This ticket marks the 40th jackpot-winning ticket won by a resident of Broward County since the latest version of Mega Money began in 2004. (Please don't confuse it with Mega Millions, a nationwide game that Florida joined in May 2013.)
Meanwhile, Powerball resets to $40 million.Copyright © 2015, South Florida
