Now, this is what a good daughter does: Magali Prins Nogueira, of Miami Beach, claimed the $16 million Florida Lotto jackpot from the drawing held on March 30.
How'd she get the ticket?
Her daughter gave it to her as a gift, according to lottery officials. The daughter bought two tickets and gave one to her mom, who said she plans to buy a house with her winnings. (Must be a big house...)
Prins Nogueira chose to receive her winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $11,466,184.40.
Publix, located at 9400 Harding Avenue in Surfside, received a bonus commission of $65,000 for selling the ticket.
The next drawing will be at 11:15 p.m. Saturday.
