The climax to a six-week Florida Lottery raffle game should make one South Floridian very happy: the grand prize $2 million ticket was sold in Plantation.
The game is called the 25th Anniversary Millionaire Raffle, and there have been six weekly $1 million winners from Nov. 19 through Dec. 23, with none from Palm Beach or Broward counties but two from Miami-Dade.
But lottery officials warned players to hang on to those tickets, which cost $20, for the grand prize drawing on Monday.
That winning ticket, No. 0325238, was sold at Publix, 225 S. Flamingo Road, Plantation. There also were 10 $100,000 winners, and four of them were sold in South Florida: At Super Stop, 1801 NE 45th St., in Fort Lauderdale, and three Publix stores: 150 S. Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach; 10913 W. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, and 18496 NW 67th Ave., Hialeah.
Another 550 winning tickets, from $1,000 to $10,000 also were drawn. Go to FloridaLottery.com for the list.
Writer's Note: Yes, I bought a ticket at a Plantation Publix, but not this one. See you at work on Wednesday. Sigh...
