Somebody's year is about to end very happily: The drawing for a $2 million raffle prize is Monday.
It's called the 25th Anniversary Millionaire Raffle, and there have been six weekly $1 million winners from Nov. 19 through Dec. 23, with none from Palm Beach or Broward counties but two from Miami-Dade.
But lottery officials warned players to hang on to those tickets, which cost $20. There's a grand prize drawing on Monday for $2 million, plus 10 $100,000 winners and 550 other consolation prizes. Every ticket sold during the process is eligible.
The list of winning ticket numbers and the venues that sold them will be posted at FloridaLottery.com around 3 p.m. Monday. Note: If you see a grand prize winner from a Publix in Plantation, this blog might come to an abrupt end.
Whether we immediately learn the name of each week's millionaire, though, is unlikely.
As is the case with most Florida lottery games, winners have 180 days to claim their ticket — upon which state law requires their name and hometown be released.
