Naples man wins first WSOP Circuit event

Lou Cheffy, a financial planner from Naples, won $183,983 in the opening event of the World Series of Poker Circuit Series at the Palm Beach Kennel Club Monday.

Cheffy, 54, is originally from Ohio. The $580 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament attracted the biggest crowd of any WSOP Circuit event, with 2,539 entries.

Joel Furney, from Quitman, Ga, finished second ($114,540).
