Scheck Hillel poker at Mardi Gras raises almost $50K

 A charity poker tournament at Mardi Gras Casino's Big Easy Poker Room raised almost $50,000 for the Scheck Hillel Kulanu Scholarship Fund.

 Ronny Koen, whose child will join the North Miami Beach school in the fall, and Scheck Hillel friend Avi Frier chopped the $5,000 first prize and $1,500 for second, each earning $3,250. Scheck Hillel alumnus and dad Scott Weisblum (’92) came in third place, and Scheck Hillel great-grandmother Esther Shalom was fourth.
