Those of you playing the FLORIDA LOTTO Fan-Tastic College Football promotion game have been derailed by the Powerball surge, but take heart: it's going to be OK.
The Florida Lottery's website went down at about 11 last night, due to the rush of interest in Powerball. The site, which is still down as of 11 a.m., was vital in the grand prize drawing for the Fan-Tastic College Football promotion, which was set for today.
But because players need access to the web, the Lottery is going to delay the drawing, and make time for any late entries: it will be open for 24 hours once the site is up.
The Lottery will announce more details on how it plans to complete the game -- once its site comes back up.
From Aug. 29 through Nov. 28, players who purchased a single $10 or more Florida Lotto or Florida Lotto with Xtra ticket received a voucher with a unique number that may be entered into one of eight college football Fan Experience promotions on the Lottery’s website.
The grand prize drawing was to be held for each of the eight teams today from entries received from Aug. 29 through midnight on Nov. 28. The Grand Prize drawings will award five winners from each school a variety of prizes including $10,000 in cash, season tickets, an away game trip and team merchandise.
