Proceeds go toward helping families and children in South Florida.   Women In Distress provides free services such as crisis intervention, safe shelter, and counseling to victims of domestic violence and their children. The Sun Sentinel Children’s Fund's portion of the proceeds will be matched at 50 percent by the McCormick Foundation and allocated to organizations supporting the needs of local low-income children and families.

“This event is important, not only for the benefit of Women In Distress and Sun Sentinel Children’s Fund but for the community as a whole,” said Mary Riedel, President and CEO of Women In Distress.  “Everyone wins – especially the families and kids who are helped.”
