The World Poker Tour Showdown returns April 1-16 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, with a nine-flight opening tournament, the televised $5,000 buy-in WPT Main Event and a $20,000 high roller event.
That's a pretty good variety.
The opening event costs $125 and carries a $150,000 guarantee. Players can enter at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
The Hard Rock hosts two other WPT related series each year, but this is the only one that makes TV. Audience seating for the televised WPT Main Event final table is open to the public. Free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To attend the WPT final table taping, arrive at Hard Rock Live by 3 p.m. on April 16. The entire six-day WPT Main Event is filmed for national broadcast on Fox Sports Net (FSN). Season XI of the World Poker Tour is sponsored by ClubWPT.com and airs Sundays at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. local time on FSN and FS Florida.
Then for the high rollers, entry is $20,000 and it starts at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 14. It'll be the most expensive tournament ever at the Hard Rock.
The 47-event series is open to anyone 18 or older and will take place in the ballrooms with the final table of the Main Event to be held in Hard Rock Live. Additional festivities include a player appreciation party with WPT talent, the Royal Flush Girls and more activities to be announced.
On-site registration for the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Showdown Main Event is now open and will remain so until the start of Level 6 on Day 1B, April 12. (Registration fee is non-refundable.) To participate, players must obtain a free “Wild Card” at the Player’s Club or in The Poker Room at Seminole Paradise.
World Poker Tour and Seminole Hard Rock Casinos have a multi-year partnership that includes several WPT events and the development of official WPT Poker Rooms inside select Seminole Hard Rock Casinos.
