If you have fast fingers, like the sounds of slot machines and want to be part of a record, you can play in the state’s largest slot tournament Monday at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.
Entry is free to the first 1,075 guests who register from 7 to 9 a.m. Monday, and the winner gets $25,000. Everybody gets at least a T-shirt.
George Bell, America’s tallest man, will hand the first-place winner a check for $25,000. In 2007, the 55-year-old Bell, who is 7 feet 8 inches tall, was recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest man in the United States.
The tournament is part of a three-day weekend of giveaways. (Note that Monday is Martin Luther King Day, and many people will have the day off.)
For the uninitiated, a slot tournament requires zero strategy. Players simply push the “Spin” button as fast as they can, and the player with the highest score wins.
There’s also the “Rise and Shine Wild Winner Tournament,” from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday. Players with 50 points earned between 7 and 11:45 a.m. each day will be eligible to participate. The top 30 scores will get paid.
Other giveaways include the “Pick Your Pony Wild Winner Racing,” hourly from noon through 4 p.m. Saturday. Slot players must have earned at least 100 points. Players also can receive a U-Spin Bonus for every 15 minutes of active play on any machine from 5 to 10 p.m.
From 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, players can earn random bonus free play with “The Pirates Gold Treasure Hunt Wild Winner Bonuses.”
