Use the sand: Take advantage of both soft and hard sand surfaces, says Rogers, 40. The soft sand helps build stamina, while the hard sand makes it easier to go longer distances. Throw in a game of beach volleyball, an ocean swim or a bike ride along State Road A1A. "The beach offers tons of fun stuff to do," he said.
Hot tip: Challenge your swim by adding a board and paddling some of the distance down the beach.
