Real World girls rush Deerfield Beach ex-punter in Cancun

Life has been one set of kicks after another for Christian Koegel.

Koegel, 24, who was born in Hollywood and lived in Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton, became a football hero at the University of Massachusetts. One of the top five punters in the nation as a senior, he's hoping to catch on with an NFL team.

With cover boy looks, his Plan B is to model and act. He has had walk-ons on Burn Notice and some other shows.

His latest life-is-good experience might be the best yet. He is one of the eight young adults chosen for MTV's Real World: Cancun.

Among many things the group will share is a penthouse apartment that "C.J." — Koegel's show handle — calls "ridiculous" and "sick" (superlatives in the jargon of the day). If Hugh Hefner saw this waterfront party palace, whose hedonistic amenities include a hot tub out on the balcony and a shower big enough for all eight inside, he'd probably say, "I have to get one of these."

If this Real World has a budding Hefner, it would be C.J., who is instantly tagged by the women with labels such as "heartthrob," "pretty boy" and "lovable and cute like a puppy."

Living with four gorgeous women, Koegel said, was "an eye-opening experience" that most guys his age would love to do.

You think?

C.J. left behind a girlfriend named Danielle. Judging from the Real World season-opener, leaving her behind will be exactly what he'll do.

Emilee, a Hooters waitress from Massachusetts who attended Florida Atlantic University, immediately sets her sights on him. C.J. doesn't resist. In one of those small-world coincidences, C.J. and Emilee had numerous common friends in both Massachusetts and South Florida, although they didn't connect until Cancun.

How his former relationship and this budding show-mance play out is part of the Real World: Cancun story line.

However, he might have dropped a hint. "I'm 24," he said. "I jump from relationship to relationship. I definitely have a single guy's mindset."

There's no better place to have that than on the Real World.
