Arctic Monkeys to perform Jan. 30 at Fillmore Miami Beach

On a celebratory tour of their fifth album “AM,” British rockers the Arctic Monkeys will deliver their anthem-rock choruses and impressive hair gel budget to the Fillmore Miami Beach on Jan. 30, 2014.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, and will cost $27.50, hardly a dealbreaker to see the band whose new album has already notched #5 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and their fifth consecutive UK #1 album.

The Sheffield, England-raised  quartet, now of Los Angeles, have layered the new release with tough garage punk spiced with the falsetto vocals of frontman Alex Turner – he of the greasy rockabilly hair and brash stage presence. Of the critically lauded “AM,” Turner told Rolling Stone that influences consisted  "almost like the Spiders From Mars covering Aaliyah. There's like a shimmery, intergalactic, slightly cosmic element to the way both those genres make me feel."

For “AM,” Turner and company added contributors in Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Elvis Costello drummer Pete Thomas. At the Fillmore, expect the rockers to play older, hook-driven thrashers in  “Fluorescent Adolescent” and “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor,” in addition to newly minted singles from “AM” (the outstanding "R U Mine?" and “Do I Wanna Know?”)

The Monkeys last toured in South Florida in October 2011, rejoicing fans when they performed an unplanned date at Revolution Live to make up for that year’s canceled Langerado gig.

Tickets are available at or charge-by-phone (800-745-3000) and the the Fillmore Box Office between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. More information at
