Cedella Marley: a little bird (or three) told her

When Cedella Marley decided to pen another children's book, "Every Little Thing," she didn't have to look very far for inspiration.

As she did with her 2011 book, "One Love," the eldest child of Bob Marley based it on her famous dad's song "Three Little Birds."

" 'Every Little Thing' is my adaptation of one my favorite songs sung by my father. I kept the spirit of the lyrics but made some changes for younger readers," Marley says. "I am thrilled to introduce the spirit of 'Three Little Birds' to a new generation and ensure they know that 'Every little thing is going to be all right.' "

The working mom, who lives in Pinecrest, considers herself a homebody. "I don't really get out much as work and being a mom keeps me busy," she admits. "I am an avid online shopper and foodie who loves to cook. So I prefer to hang out at home cooking some food."

When she does venture out, she enjoys going to Lincoln Road and Coconut Grove. "I love walking around [the Grove's] organic farmers market on Grand Street," she says. "I also like Green Street's [restaurant] vibe and decor and often enjoy their lunch."

Marley, who designed the track and field uniforms for the 2012 Jamaican Olympic team, has her own line of swimsuits and clothing, and recently released a line of T-shirts called "Cho!"

As far as releasing some new tunes, Marley says she is waiting for the right moment. "I have been saying that for a while, because my brothers keep the pressure on me," she says. "But [for now], I will just say, 'soon come.' "
