Live music this week: Measuring up

Back for another session with South Florida fans is the Canadian rock band Metric, which spent some time here during last year's Art Basel Miami Beach. Singer Emily Haines and her group will perform at the Fillmore Miami Beach this Thursday. ($39.50, LiveNation.com)

Also in South Beach, the Fontainebleau's LIV nightclub will host Coolio's 50th birthday party on Friday. The rapper's signature braids have severely decreased in number, and he hasn't released an album in years, so we'll have to see if he still runs "Gangsta's Paradise." ($45.20-$67.80, Facebook.com/LIVMiami)

Friday's the day for the pop crowd, too: While the Jonas Brothers play the Cruzan Amphitheatre ($15-$95, LiveNation.com), the American Idols Live tour will hit the AmericanAirlines Arena. ($47.55-$81.90, Ticketmaster.com)

On Saturday, Diplo's Mad Decent Block Party will crash Revolution Live with the sounds of Major Lazer, Big Gigantic, Flosstradamus and other masters of trap and dancehall. Although Diplo is a Florida native, his record label's touring party kicks off from Philadelphia every summer, taking bass beats across the country and encouraging attendees to bring their Super Soakers. ($48, Ticketmaster.com)
