U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel, D-West Palm Beach, gave her first one-minute speech on the floor of the U.S. House at midday Tuesday.
She marked the 40th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision in which the U.S. Supreme Court found a constitutionally protected right for a woman to have an abortion.
Frankel took office in January. In November, she was elected to represent the Broward-Palm Beach county 22nd Congressional District.
