McDonald¿s is facing a $1.5-million lawsuit from a California man who says he was only given one napkin.
A California man who says he was denied additional napkins with his McDonald's meal may be suing the fast-food chain for $1.5 million, TMZ is reporting.
Notice how I said "may." That's because the details are still fuzzy, despite the prevalence of this story across the web. TMZ posted the "exclusive" story on Thursday along with emails between customer Webster Lucas and the general manager of the restaurant.
Lucas claims he experienced "emotional distress" and "undue mental anguish" after he was only given one napkin with his Quarter Pounder Deluxe and refused additional ones by the restaurant's manager.
Although it does seem some sort of spat took place over napkins, whether or not Lucas is actually suing is still unclear since no lawsuit documentation has been posted to the web and a McDonald's representative told the Consumerist that the company isn't aware of any lawsuit.
My suggestion is to take this story with a grain of salt, and if you're so inclined you can read the full TMZ report here.
