Eric Rico Ortiz posted this photo on his Facebook Dec. 2 with the caption "Now I will give everybody something to look at!!!!!" ( Facebook.com )
A Florida man decided to face his fear of spiders head on by getting a black widow tattooed on his cheek, The Daytona Beach News-Journal is reporting.
“Everybody fears spiders,” 24-year-old Deltona resident Eric Ortiz told the newspaper. “That’s why I got it. Just to, like, make me know, that that’s what I fear, but not to fear it. You know what I’m saying?”
Because that definitely makes sense.
The tattoo has gotten Ortiz attention, but not necessarily the good kind. His friends say it could (obviously) inhibit his ability to get a job in the future and his girlfriend wasn't impressed. Not surprisingly, Ortiz's relationship status is currently listed as "single."
Best of luck to Ortiz in finding his very own black widow.
Who knows, maybe now that Ortiz has an easily-identifiable face tattoo he'll shy away from his life of crime. When he was interviewed by the News-Journal, he was at the Volusia County Courthouse dealing with a felony charge of driving while license revoked as a habitual offender.
But that charge should be the least of his worries, seeing as he's faced charges of burglary of a conveyance, domestic battery, possession of schedule 4 substance, retail theft, violation of injunction for protection and loitering and prowling, the newspaper reports.
