Tim Tebow has been hired by ESPN to be an analyst for the SEC Network, which is scheduled to launch in August 2014.

Tebow will appear on the pregame show SEC Nation.

The show will broadcast from various SEC locations throughout the season on game day starting on Aug. 28, 2014.

The network announced in a release that Tebow will also appear on ESPN staples like SportsCenter, ESPN radio and coverage of the Heisman trophy "offering in-depth perspective as a legendary Southeastern Conference player."

Tebow will make his ESPN debut at the BCS national championship game between Florida State and Auburn on Jan. 6.

“I am so excited that ESPN has given me this incredible opportunity,” Tebow said in the release. “When I was six years old I fell in love with the game of football, and while I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC.”

The job with ESPN does not prevent Tebow from pursuing his playing aspirations in the NFL.
