My sister’s phone died this week, and she immediately dropped everything to scour the Internet for the best replacement. She sent me videos comparing brands, dual camera vs. single camera, larger vs. smaller. And I was right there with her, researching and comparing.
Like her, I use my phone for everything. It wakes me in the morning, reminds me to adjust the air conditioner before I leave and displays my first few appointments for the day. I use my phone to check traffic for my work commute and listen to music while making the drive. I even have an app that reminds me to check the back seat for children once I arrive at my destination.
My phone is always on me, to take pictures and videos, inspire and instruct my kids (just Google it!) and manage expenses and the kids’ allowances. It is the perfect family assistant.
So I am excited about moving South Florida Parenting into a mobile experience. From now on, South Florida Parenting will be exclusively digital, meaning our events, features, reviews and advice will be able to reach you wherever you are in cyberspace.
The move will give South Florida Parenting the ability to focus on daily interactions with parents and families in South Florida through our website and our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social channels.
We'll post news and events of interest to South Florida families every day, and deliver a roundup of things to do and deals for families to your inbox every Wednesday in the South Florida Parenting newsletter.
The new searchable family events calendar at the top of SouthFloridaParenting.com is the region’s best roundup of family events, and it is searchable by name, category, date and location. You can even display events on a map to find those closest to you.
You’ll find parent resources, such as after school and field trip activities, in an easy-to-use searchable database.
And we’ll treat you to Stuff We Love (mom-approved products), family travel features, parent advice, back-to-school tips, and news for families in Broward, Miami Dade and Palm Beach counties.
We’ve launched a monthly Facebook Live show, bringing in guests to speak to parents about things to do in South Florida, programs for families, health and safety, and more. Check us out the fourth Thursday of every month at 12:30 p.m. to catch up on all the latest for parents in South Florida. On July 26, we’ll help you go back to school with shopping tips, lunchbox reviews and advice on preparing your kids for the school year.
We want to hear from you, too. What issues most concern you?
