Kids Expo to bring celebrities, characters to Museum of Discovery & Science

The 6th annual Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Kids Expo will bring more than 75 activities for kids and celebrity guests to the Museum of Discovery and Science in downtown Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The event has a STEAM theme, for Science, Technology, Entertainment, Art and Maternity. It will feature photo ops with characters such as Curious George and Pete the Cat, shark tooth necklaces and sand art, a live concert for all ages, a Baby Love Zone with baby products and giveaways, a giant Lite Brite, animal encounters, a DJ Kids Club and Publix Aprons Kids Cooking School demonstrations.

The event also includes full access to the museum’s exhibits, including the current Rescue! exhibit, the outdoor science playground, the otter exhibit, airboat ride, storm center and more.

Parents can register online at jdchkidsexpo.com for a free kids ticket (with adult purchase). Tickets are $16 for adults, $13 for ages 2-12 and $15 for seniors.

The Kids Expo is 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. at the Museum of Discovery and Science and Autonation IMAX Theater at 401 SW 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale. For more information, visit jdchkidsexpo.com.
