The 6th Annual Coral Gables Restaurant Week is back starting Monday through June 30.
But the official Taste of the Gables kick-off is 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at The Westin Colonnade Hotel when 20 restaurants offer samples of their fare. Swine Southern Table & Bar, Sushi Samba, and Azucar Cuban Cuisine are among the participating restaurants. Advance tickets are $25 for general admission and $50 for VIP ($35 and $65 at the door). Starting Monday, almost 40 restaurants will offer prix-fixe menus at lunch and dinner. Each restaurant’s menu and prices can be found at CoralGablesRestaurantWeek.com. At Bread + Butter, where chef Alberto Cabrera’s offers his modern taken on classic Cuban food, the $25 lunch menu features a choice of small plate, sandwich and dessert. Tarpon Bend’s $28.95 three-course dinner menu offers a choice of four appetizers, five entrees and three desserts.
Some restaurants are offering ticketed events, such as a pizza making class at Cibo Wine Bar and a midnight chef’s table dinner at Swine Southern Table & Bar.
The official cocktail of the Coral Gables Restaurant week is the Bacardi mojito, created by presenting sponsor, Bacardi USA.
