2013 Garlic Chef, Bruce Feingold, center, with team members Becky and Scott
Bruce Feingold, chef and coowner of Dada in Delray Beach, took home top prize in the 14th annual garlic chef competition held last weekend at the Delray Beach Garlic Fest.
Feingold beat two time winner Chuck Gittleman of Karma Steakbar & Sushi in Boca Raton.
In the final round, Feingold and Gittleman were asked to pair garlic with berries and chocolate in three separate desserts. Feingold made: a deconstructed cannoli with garlic blackberry and blueberry mascarpone filling; white chocolate, fresh mozzarella, raspberry-filled wonton with jalapeno garlic caramel; and strawberry, blueberry cobbler with roasted garlic and lemon zest topping finished with balsamic whipped cream.
No word if these will show up on Dada’s menu.
