Gilbert's 17th Street Grill in Fort Lauderdale was the top vote getter in the Sun Sentinel's first online Best of South Florida series in 2010.
Gilbert's starts with half a pound of certified Angus beef. To hang on to their Angus certification, Gilbert said they can't add anything to the raw meat, seasoning only the exterior of each patty while being cooked on the restaurant's gas grill.
Pictured is their burger with brie, bacon and fried onions with sweet potato fries.
