Lindsay Autry is the new executive chef at Sundy House (106 S. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach, 561-272-5678, SundyHouse.com)
The former “Top Chef Texas” finalist was most recently executive chef at Michelle Bernstein’s at The Omphoy Ocean Resort in Palm Beach. Since Bernstein parted ways with The Omphoy earlier this years, Autry has been hosting pop-up dinners, preparing one-night-only meals in unique locations.
Originally from Fayetteville, N.C., Lindsay got her cooking start in 4-H cooking competitions. She is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University North Miami campus and got her start at the Capital Grille where she first met Bernstein. Autry worked alongside Bernstein at Azul at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, then opened the MB as sous chef in Cancun, Mexico. Chef Autry was chef de cuisine at Las Brisas at the Fairmont Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, and was named a Restaurant Hospitality Rising Star in 2008 while chef of the Lazy Goat in Greenville, S.C.
Autry is know for combining Southern influences with Mediterranean flavors and French technique. She is a perfect match for Sundy House, the garden resort tucked away near downtown Delray, that’s on the National Register of Historic Places.
