Juiceateria, a juice bar that opened a year ago in Royal Palm Place, has merged with the unit next door to incorporate this raw vegan cafe in the same space under the same owner, Frank Bennardo.
Although designed as grab-and-go from the cooling cases, a few tables are scattered on the sidewalk and inside. As you approach the adorable stamp-size patio, look for mason jars with fresh fruit gracefully floating in filtered water ($9). Shiny and clean, the shop's white and bright-green colors are fitting of the veggies that headline here.
"No heat, no meat, no dairy, no gluten, no soy, no GMO, no MSG, no flour, no preservatives, no coloring — simply all natural prepared in our open kitchen for all to see," says Bennardo, a lawyer who was spurred to action by Americans' obesity.
Alternative techniques, such as dehydrators instead of ovens, are used to craft about 50 items that rotate throughout the week, along with specials and everyday staples. "The list grows every day. There's not anything we can't do," Bennardo says.
Bestsellers include mock egg and tuna salads, using cashews, flaxseed and onions, in a wrap, salad or bagel ($12-$13); Rawmazing Lasagna ($14); nori rolls with Thai dipping sauce and candied sesame kale ($12)' and nine varieties of flaxseed pizza, such as Caprese with cashew milk "cheese" ($7-$8 per slice). There are even renditions of onion rings, French fries, bacon and meatballs. Desserts include chocolate-avocado mousse parfait with berries and chocolate-mango pie ($5-$9).
"I have patrons approach me in much improved health and weight loss, hug me, and thank me for changing their lives," Bennardo says.

This 1-year-branch of the casual seafood chain has added lower calorie choices to counter its signature deep-fried fish platters and crab cakes.
"We're honored that guests love our fresh fish, be it fried or grilled, yet they've been asking more and more for healthier seafood dishes, so we're dishing up what they've asked for," co-owner Andy Noonan says. "Grilled dishes are quickly accounting for a larger portion of sales, so we're excited we can continue to meet customer demand with our growing menu."
Heart symbols on the menu boards denote the healthier dishes that use ingredients such as olive oil, garlic and lemon. Grilled salmon, mahi-mahi and chicken are served on house made slaw, a 30-year-old recipe from founder Joseph Melluso that uses white vinegar and onions instead of mayonnaise ($6.95-$9.95 lunch; $12.95-$17.95 dinner).
Expanded salads ($10.95-$14.95) include seared ahi tuna, and cheese and ranch dressing have been removed in five varieties of tacos ($3.95-$6.95).

Downtown office workers have a new option for weekday breakfast and lunch in the Wells Fargo building.
The menu of egg dishes, French toast, pancakes, flat-bread pizza and sandwiches changes frequently and tops off at $10. The fresh catch of the day is market price, and the salad bar is $6 by the pound. The breakfast special includes scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes and biscuit for $6, while the lunch special incorporates a protein, starch, veggies, mixed greens and bread for $8.
"The inspiration was to bring fresh, hand-prepared cuisine at a reasonable price, served in comfortable bistro atmosphere," says owner and chef Howard Hurst, who's owned a catering company for 13 years and was executive chef at Signature Grand in Davie.
