BBQ & Brew in West Palm Beach

West Palm Beach is calling its Fourth of July celebrations Patriotism in Paradise.

It starts with Fourth on Flagler, a free fireworks display at 9 p.m. Thursday on the waterfront at the foot of Flagler Street. More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the show.

Food comes into play at Northwest's Taste of the South BBQ & Brew 1-4 p.m. Saturday on Banyan Boulevard, two blocks north of downtown. Admission is free, but guests who pay $5 receive samples of Southern-style barbecue and fixings. Local craft beer will also be for sale and there will be live blues and R & B. Participatants include Ms Smoke Mobile Kitchen, Awesome BBQ, The Purple Shrimp, Summer Days Shave Ice and Country Boyz BBQ.

From 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, several restaurants in the Northwood Village neighborhood will be offering specials and live music as part of the Star Sprangled Jubilee.

On Sunday, several downtown West Palm Beach restaurants will be serving brunch. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., there will be discounted water activities. Info:
