Top chicken wings in South Florida

You can fry them or grill them, roast them or nuke them, eat them hot and spicy or cold and sweet. You can baste them in barbecue sauce or raspberry vinegar, dunk them in honey mustard or blue cheese dressing.

But you shouldn’t eat them with a fork and knife.

I’m talking about chicken wings, an all-American finger food, which we celebrate on July 29 with National Chicken Wing Day. Chicken wing day began in 1977 in Buffalo, N.Y., where hot and vinegary Buffalo wings were first hatched at Frank & Teressa Bellissimo’s Anchor Bar in 1964. It is estimated that Americans now consume more than 27 billion wings annually.

Raise an elbow and flap an arm in salute. Then order a basket at your favorite sports bar or restaurant. Make sure to wash them down with a cold brew, eat some celery sticks on the side and keep plenty of Handi Wipes ready for when you are done. Here is a sampling of some tasty wings in South Florida.
