It figures that historian Peter Moruzzi would find three South Florida spots to include in his new book “Classic Dining: Discovering America’s Finest Mid-Century Restaurants” (Gibbs Smith, $30).
One of those restaurants — Mai-Kai. 3599 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, 954-563-3272, MaiKai.comÖ — is the setting for Moruzzi’s illustrated talk 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13.
From Polynesian restaurants like our Mai-Kai to Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach and Fox’s Sherron Inn in South Miami, the book includes more than 200 classic restaurants in all 50 states.
