The first location of this 20-year-old Argentinean chain outside of South America has debuted in the Costa Hollywood Beach Resort.
The hotel will open Oct. 19 just steps away from the oceanfront Hollywood Broadwalk.
“The menu was specifically designed for the South Florida market [while still] keeping the South American flair,” says franchisee Marcelo Leo, an Argentinean native. “A full American breakfast concept was developed compared to continental breakfast options served in Argentina. Items such as organic salads, gourmet sandwiches and pastries were incorporated into the menu.”
The shop offers a range of tea and coffee beverages, including sweet concoctions such as the Temptation with coffee, dulce de leche, cream and chocolate ($6.35).
“I love strong coffees,” Leo says. “African beans are my favorites.”
Breakfast and lunch choices include empanadas ($2.99), quiches ($6.95), pizzas ($9.95), a Caribbean spicy omelet called perico ($9.95), eggs Benedictine with bacon ($10.95) and smoked salmon bagels ($12.95).
“The design follows style standards for the entire chain. Sofas and lounge areas are a must,” Leo says. “Even though the company was launched in Argentina, the idea was to operate in many countries, so we decided to create a boutique.”
An upscale setting incorporates light-colored walls and tufted banquettes with fringe pillows, blond wood tables contrasted by black chairs, and a wall-size world map of the countries from which the Coffee Store sources their nine blends of coffee.
