A New York couple has returned to the United States to open the second location of their St. John restaurant on the second floor of CityPlace. The former space of Lafayette's Music Room encompasses a concert venue.

"Our menu at Bowery Coastal is based on fresh coastal cuisine, representing all areas of the world," says Karena Kefales, owner with Joe Cirigliano, who named Bowery after their New York street. "Our dishes are light, fresh, simple and clean. Our menu on St. John is based on smaller, heartier dishes with Caribbean roots."

The couple, who have appeared on HGTV shows such as "Caribbean Life," partnered with New York chef Anthony "Theo" Theocaropoulos. His Mediterranean-influenced fare features a lamb bun with feta cream and dill ($5) seafood sesame salad ($20) and squid-ink seafood pasta ($25). An octopus dish ($16) originates from his father, who owned Greeks diners in New York.

Dinner is served nightly amid multishaded wood walls, an indoor-outdoor bar, string lights, a blue quartzite oyster bar and a lounge under living walls. Balcony seating overlooks the courtyard.

Lunch and Sunday brunch will launch soon. Concerts at Bowery LIVE will feature famous and local acts.
