This fast-causal seafood eatery has expanded its menu and added outside seating since opening last summer in the former Gimme a Burger near the bridge to the beach.
“I was in fish and produce wholesale my entire career in upstate New York, and I found in South Florida that fresh and fried fish was hard to come by the way I do it,” owner Charlie Pusatere says. “This inspired me to open a place where there is good quality for less fare, because I buy my product direct. My wholesale experience gave me the know-how to properly handle fish and keep it at peak freshness.”
Additions are Ipswich belly clams (20 for $13.95), fried or grilled shrimp ($10.25; $13.45 for platter), fried oysters ($13.75; $15.95 for platter) and grilled mahi mahi, grouper and snapper as a sandwich ($9.95) or platter ($15.95).
“The tartar and cocktail sauces and my sweet chili are family recipes of my godfather Ted’s Fish Fry in upstate New York,” Pusatere says.
Lunch and dinner are served daily amid blue walls, black-and-white fishing boat photos and wood banquettes.
“Beachgoers definitely stop in. I can tell by the sand on my floor,” Pusatere says.
