This 25-year-old national chain, founded in Jacksonville, has opened its first South Florida location in the former Mythos Greek Tavern.

“The Walk is conveniently situated in the heart of Coral Springs, and it’s a place where fashion, food, style and life come together,” managing partner Greg Schaafsma says. “The Walk is also considered the ultimate place to gather with family and friends of all ages, which perfectly aligns with the principles of Metro Diner.”

Large portions of indulgent comfort food are served for three meals a day. Bestsellers include fruity waffle ($7.99), chicken pot pie ($8.99-$9.99), meatloaf plate ($10.99), huevos rancheros ($11.49), fried chicken and waffles topped with housemade strawberry butter and sweet-and-spicy sauce ($15.49) and Charleston shrimp and grits ($16.99).

Seasonal desserts rotate daily and weekly. Beer ($3.49-$4.49), wine ($3.99), mimosas and Bloody Marys (both $4.99) are available.

An open kitchen anchors yellow walls, green accents and black booths. The front patio boasts a fountain view.

“From the forest green awnings that provide a welcoming entrance to the nostalgic, black-and-white checkered floors, you feel at home,” Schaafsma says. “A white brick wall also adorns the restaurant with handwritten daily specials on a blackboard.”
