Chef Matthew Kenney has debuted a casual version of his 1-year-old Plant Food + Wine in Miami.
“Plnthouse is more of a daytime location, focusing on bowls, salads, baked items and wraps, while Plant Food + Wine highlights our most advanced cuisine with refined presentation and a very stylish approach to the food,” Kenney says.
Plnthouse features plant-based, local, sustainable ingredients. Highlights include the bahn mi wrap with ginger-roasted eggplant, lentil pâté, carrots and smoked jalapeño cream ($13) and One Bowl with sprouted lentils, broccoli, kale, nori, brown rice and turmeric dressing ($15).
Kenney’s favorites are yuzu guacamole ($14) and One Salad with veggies, hemp seeds, sunflower sprouts, spicy macadamia nuts, avocado and chili-lime vinaigrette ($15).
Libations include juices ($13), smoothies ($12-$20) and cocktails ($15), such as the Light & Breezy with vodka, passionfruit kombucha and ginger beer.
A last bite is mango cheesecake with pistachio crust and lime curd ($12).
The second-floor eatery boasts a terrace with ocean views.
“Plnthouse is a beachy, breezy cafe,” Kenney says. “The interior, while clean and contemporary, is comfortable, earthy and highlighted by abundant earth tones, wood and plants.”
Hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
