The fourth floor of Brickell City Centre has become home to the fourth location of this mini chain, founded in Miami Beach in 2011.
“We wanted to integrate our neighborhood sushi concept into a more urban setting but keep the concept’s original soul,” James Beard Award-nominated chef Jose Mendin says. “We steered the design to a more modern look, where the sushi and cocktail bars act as the centerpiece.”
Favorites include butter crab roll ($12), salmon tartare taquito with avocado mousse ($12) and tuna pizza ($16). New selections include garlic hamachi roll ($16) and the Heat Roll with spicy tuna and albacore ($16) — a nod to the chain’s AmericanAirlines Arena location.
The Japanese robata grills chicken yakitori ($10), steak anticucho ($16) and octopus with spicy lemongrass and crispy garlic ($18).
A revamped drink menu features five anime-inspired cocktails ($13), such as Light Yagamia with shochu, charred pineapple, chipotle syrup and yuzu and Arsene Lupin III with sake, lychee shrub, shiso leaf and lemon.
A hip vibe incorporates an open kitchen, warm woods, charcoal and brick walls and a Japanese kanji mural by graffiti artist Erni Vales. Terrace seating looks up to sky views through a transparent ceiling.
