This flashy, 4-year-old hotspot in Worthing Park off hip Atlantic Avenue is tweaking its image with a refashioned sign and a revamped menu with more than 20 new items.
Though sushi has mostly disappeared, flavor combinations are more innovative and creative, such as seared scallops rubbed in cacao nib with pistachios and butternut squash ($15, $28).
"Any budget can come in now. We're not expecting to have sticker shock, anymore," general manager Larry Thomas Jr. says. "We've opened it up to such a broad audience and getting more multigenerational people. The biggest change to our service is we are trying to inspire more sharing among friends and family. The new dishes can be portioned to fit any size party."
New bestsellers are kale salad with tropical fruit and Thai peanut dressing ($13, $23), eight-hour short-rib bao bun ($13, $24), fried truffle mac and cheese ($11, $19), salmon and tuna sushi pyramid with spicy ponzu ($17, $32) and Poulet Rouge with lavender and purple potatoes ($27).
"We created these dishes not to obey the tired Yelp categorical labels, but to favor a menu that is as diverse as the people we are and the people we dine with," Thomas says.
