Eden Roc chef hosts monthly Summer Sunday BBQs

Update: The summer Sunday BBQ series has been cancelled because of a change of management at the Eden Roc.

Chef Paula DaSilva, of 1500° at Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach, is hosting Summer Sunday BBQs, a monthly collaborative cookout featuring guest chefs, mixologist and live music. The first event is 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 23. The theme is Latin and South American barbecue and features four guest chefs.

They are Lauren Deshields of Market 17 in Fort Lauderdale; Julie Frans of Essensia in Miami Beach; Brian Nasajon of SUSHI SAMBA Miami Beach; and Simon Stojanovic. The barbecue is $50 per person, which includes tax and tip.

Here’s how each chef’s action station will break down.

Paula DaSilva: Roasted Pork Shoulder; Mojo Marinated and Grilled Octopus; Argentine ‘Provoleta’ with Grilled Tomato; Spicy Corn on the Cob with Lime Mayo; and Cotija Cheese and Grilled Green Plantains

Lauren Deshields: Croquettes 3 Ways (Smoked Ham, Key West Pink Shrimp & Garlic Chive Potato); Baby Arugula Salad with Chimichurri Vinaigrette; and Chicharrónes, Chilies, Lime Salt

Julie Frans: African Adobo Rubbed Ahi with Mango-Avocado-Mint Salsa; Roasted Poblano Polenta on the Grill; and Grilled Star Fruit Salad with Spicy Cilantro Dressing

Brian Nasajon: Robata Asado with Picanha, Morcilla and Skirt Steak; and Avocado Puree, Pickled Papaya, Coffee Chimichurri

Simon Stojanovic: Churrasco Soft Tacos and Fresh Corn Salsa
