Adjacent to Kreepy Tiki Tattoos, Five Points Lounge is a Polynesian-themed watering hole just off Route 1 in Fort Lauderdale. If you don’t get off the main road right at the fork past the airport, you’ll have to keep on North and make two U-turns to get back. And if you don’t turn into the alley leading to a parking lot before the bar, you’ll have to make two U-turns to get back. Once you make it inside, grab a stool at the bamboo-covered bar and drink a craft ale as you peek through the entryway to the tattoo parlor and watch someone’s bicep get inked with a hula girl. Tuesdays from 5 to 8 p.m., and Wednesdays through Fridays from 1 to 8 p.m., that beer will cost you 25 percent less than usual for happy hour. The newly opened bar is a close cousin of Kreepy Tiki, but the owners stress the two businesses are not the same. However, Five Points is nearby should you need encouragement to face the needle.
Happy hour: Tuesday 5-8 p.m., Wednesday-Friday 1-8 p.m.
Recommended drink: Innis and Gunn Limited Edition Spiced Rum Finish, an oak-aged Scottish ale with hints of Caribbean spices.
Location: Five Points Lounge, 2608 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale; 305-803-9014, Facebook: 5 Points Lounge
