Three upcoming food festivals in Boca, Wilton Manors and Coconut Grove

Three very different food festivals are set for the next few months.

Boca Bacchanal, March 22-24,

In it’s first ten years, Boca Bacchanal has raised more than $2.5 million for the Raton Historical Society & Museum. Featured chefs for this year’s 11th festival  include Paula DaSilva of 1500° at Eden Roc Resort in Miami Beach; Eric DiStefano of Geronimo in Santa Fe, N.M., Peng Looi of August Moon Chinese Bistro and Asiatique restaurant in Louisville, Ky., and Piero Premoli of Pricci in Atlanta, Ga. Featured vintners include Count Patrick d'Aulan, Alta Vista Winery, Argentina; René Schlatter, Merryvale Vineyards, Napa Valley; and Christopher Silva, St. Francis Winery & Vineyards, Sonoma Valley.

There are three separate events starting with the Bacchus Bash Friday night with 14 chefs and vintners. On Saturday, vintner dinners will be held in six private homes. The bacchanal ends Sunday with a Grand Tasting featuring 30 chefs and restaurants along with 140 wines and a beer garden at the Mizner Park Amphitheatre.

Wilton Manors Wine and Food Festival, April 6,

South Florida foodies may know chef Deanna Allen as co-owner of Island Fusion Gourmet Sauces,  dipping, cooking and marinating sauces which are sold in many local gourmet markets. Now she’s organizing the first Wilton Manors Wine and Food Festival, which benefits The Poverello Center. The center gives away free groceries and clothing from its food bank and thrift shop to people living with HIV.

The event will be held on the three-acre grounds of a former nursery now called Eucalyptus Gardens. Organizers promise it will have the feel of an intimate vineyard party. About 30 restaurants and private chefs will offer menu samples. Buy tickets before April 1 for big savings.

Great Taste of the Grove!, April 13-14,

This family-friendly 23rd annual food festival is also a great deal. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids under age 12 and free for kids younger than 3. Great Tasting Tents will host more than 20 restaurants which will offer small tastes priced between $1 and $8. It all takes place in the Grove’s historic Peacock Park where there will be live performances and a Kids Fun Zone.

Participating restaurants include Jaguar, Peacock Garden Café, Green Street Café, Timo's at Villa Mayfair, Panorama at Sonesta Bayfront Hotel and Bizcaya at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove.
