The bright marquee lights shining Taphouse's name illuminate the 40-something craft beers on draft. From North Carolina stouts to Californian IPAs and ciders, the long list is constantly rotating. The printed menu not only showcases options but also explains expected flavors. And Taphouse's staff is not shy to pour samples for the exploring beer lover.
While there are beers from all over, Taphouse makes sure a number of local crafts are always available, including Boynton Beach's Due South Brewing Company, Miami's J. Wakefield Brewing and Twisted Trunk Brewing from Palm Beach Gardens. Craft beer is not their only specialty, though. Taphouse offers a full bar with a whiskey and bourbon list as long as the beer list, as well as expansive options of scotch and wine.
Open since November, this new addition to the funky area that is Clematis offers happy hour every Tuesday through Saturday from 4-7 p.m., where all draft beers are $2-off while house wines and well drinks are $4. Mind you though, Finlandia vodka, Bacardi rum and Jim Beam whiskey are considered wells at Taphouse.
Their food menu will satisfy any palate once the drunk munchies kick in. From shrimp guacamole ($7) to mac and cheese egg rolls ($9), arugula pesto flatbread ($10) or Cajun shrimp and polenta ($17) braised with Funky Buddha beer, the combination of creative flavors alone ensure any hour at Taphouse is a happy one.
Happy hour: 4-7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
Recommended drink: Bell's Oberon Ale ($5 during happy hour), an American wheat ale from Kalamazoo, Michigan
