Here's a chance to have your dog trained while you kick back a few. This doggie boarding school opened in downtown Fort Lauderdale last November, and it's inviting patrons and prospective patrons to bring in their yappers for a boozy mixer on Sunday, June 2.
From noon to 2 p.m., dog owners can pay $10 per pup to come into the one-acre Lauderdale Pet Lodge, which includes two dog parks, and get sauced with their (human) friends. The event is BYOB, and an effort by the Lodge to showcase its modern dog-training philosophies.
"No cages, no crates, no kidding," the kennel declared in a press release. Its website touts "oversized runs & suites, two huge private dog parks, each with its own chlorine and chemical free pool designed specifically for dogs, UV shade tents, NFL-style artificial turf throughout the entire facility, oversized A/C systems allowing for superior odor and climate control, and spacious multi-level condos for the kitties."
Although the Lodge does take in cats while you're away, the event gave no indication of feline invitees.
The Lauderdale Pet Lodge is located at 2604 S. Federal Highway. RSVPs are recommended for this event.
