A new moon has risen.
This landmark on the Intracoastal Waterway is celebrating its 18th anniversary after a jaw-dropping, month-long $1 million renovation that now affords a view of the terrace and water once you step in the door.
"We wanted our restaurant to live up to our food," says co-owner Baron Skorish. "We wanted to reinvent ourselves."
Indeed. The floor-to-ceiling transformation shed the etched glass and dark wood to brighten and open the interior with light woods, white quartz columns, white counters and reclaimed mixed-wood walls. The side prep section now exposes the busy chefs, anchored by a raw bar.
The bar was repositioned for a better view with icicle cylindrical pendant lighting, home to a dozen new craft beers with a dozen cocktails on the way, including bourbons and bitters.
The reopening marks one of their biggest menu revamps, as well as changes to the Sunday buffet brunch ($58.95), which has pared back the stations to expand the made-to-order dishes.
New lunch and dinner selections include conch-shrimp hush puppies ($11, lunch appetizer; $6, dinner side), tuna tiradito ($16), muffaletta fried oysters ($14-$15), shellfish tagliatelle ($18, lunch; $34, dinner) and grilled rib eye with maple-horseradish crispy Brussels sprouts ($28, lunch; $39, dinner).
Save room for four new desserts, such as luscious mascarpone cheesecake on Oreo crust ($12).
