7900 W. Sunrise Blvd., Plantation, 754-551-6360, McAlistersDeli.com
This 28-year-old fast-casual chain, based in Atlanta, has opened a second South Florida location in Plantation Pointe.
“The demographic area is very different than that of our first McAlister’s in Miami. However, we know that a Southern-style deli was something the community would enjoy,” franchisee Berna Montalvan says. “The combination of business, both large and small, and residential is ideal.”
Bestsellers are McAlister’s Famous Tea ($2.19); broccoli cheddar soup ($3.99, cup; $4.99, bowl; $5.99, bread bowl); Spud Max, a baked potato filled with ham, turkey, bacon, cheddar Jack cheese, green onions, black olives and sour cream ($7.59); the McAlister’s Club ($7.79); and Savannah Chopped Salad with grilled chicken, dried cranberries, Gorgonzola, honey roasted almonds, tomatoes and cucumbers ($8.59).
Sugar or Heath Crunch cookies are a couple of the assorted cookies baked in-house ($1.25).
“The Plantation Pointe location is definitely bigger in size than Doral Gateway,” Montalvan says. “We have a larger outdoor patio as well, but still the home-away-from-home feeling on the inside.”
Yellow, green and orange walls and light-green seats brighten earth-tone flooring, wood and brick accents. White subway tile glistens behind the service counter.
Hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
