Benedicts on the menu for M.E.A.T.'s Saturday brunch

At M.E.A.T., Saturday brunch is all about eggs Benedict

M.E.A.T. Eatery And Taproom

980 N. Federal Highway, Suite 115, Boca Raton, 561-419-2600,

This year-old fast-casual smokehouse with an industrial feel in the futurist Cendyn Spaces office building has launched a bevy of eggs Benedicts from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays to supplement the regular menu.

Benedict choices on brioche pastry range from renditions with house-made chorizo and tomato-chimichurri hollandaise; house-smoked pork with Asian slaw and beer molasses barbeque hollandaise; grilled portobello with tomato-pesto hollandaise; and brisket burger with house-made bacon, cheese and chipotle-mango hollandaise (all $8.99) to house-made pastrami with sauerkraut and beer caraway seed mustard hollandaise ($9.95) and Maine lobster with tomato lemon truffle hollandaise ($14.50).

"The combination of flavors, textures and colors work very well, and it speaks to my culinary background," says chef partner George Patti. "We decided to run our brunch special on Saturdays because so many places do brunch Sundays … give people another option on the weekend."

To complement, M.E.A.T. is offering tropical fruit bellinis ($6.99) and Bloody Mayas with sake and wasabi ($8.50).
