SommerBrau has arrived at Gordon Biersch. The Brickell brewpub's summer release is a German-style lager, and it comes accompanied by a cocktail.
The booze is just a mojito made with Bacardi Limon. But the beer is a kolsch: A crisp, golden lager good for switching Dad over from his beloved Yuengling. (That's how I trick my dad into drinking craft.)
Gordon Biersch's summer food menu is as light as its SommerBrau. Until June 30, choose from these dishes designed to pair with the summer beer:
Tapas with flatbread: bruschetta with hummus and olive tapenade.
Gorgonzola-pear salad: Pecan-crusted chicken over mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette, gorgonzola cheese and pear.
Lobster and shrimp tacos: Blue-corn taco shell wrapped in a soft tortilla holding cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo and the protein, and served with rice and beans.
Seared Ahi tuna: Served rare with quinoa-kale pilaf and wasabi ailoi.
Bourbon chicken and grilled shrimp: Served with jasmine rice and vegetables.
Strawberry cheesecake: New York Style.
